I have just, for the first time, been invited to tender for the supply of services to a large motor manufacturer and have received an inch thick document!!

Is there any one who has some experience of Tender Documents who can help me through the minefield of information that is requested?

This is a first for us as usually in my line of business everything is ad hoc with no contracts etc.

Thanks

Nigel

I work on a lot of tenders. The first one is a bitch because you're starting from scratch. The rest are a lot easier thanks to Copy & Paste.

Is it the Pre Qualification Questionnaire or the actual Invitation to Tender?

Let me know any questions you have and I'll see what I've got.

Hi, its the actual invitation to tender, very little of it is about costs etc, but seems to be mainly health and safety!!

I have to be careful I assume to answer these correctly? Where can I find the answers to the questions, are there any publications or web sites to look at?

Thanks

Nigel

Are they specific questions or are they asking for copy documents? i.e. a copy of your H&S policy. If it's policies then email me through my profile and I can send over some I have from a large UK construction company.

I did a google for the policy stuff: H and S, Environmental, Equal Ops, Diversity. Copy and Paste. Switched company names in the copied stuff and cut the bits that talked about nuclear waste and working at heights. Had a quick board meeting to adopt it all.

Just a quick update on this, seems like a lifetime since I asked for your help!! Anyway I was the successful tenderer (?) and have recently won the contract for 3 year supply of Chauffeur driven cars to a major car company based in Bracknell. Have just completed our first month, which included VIP transfers to Goodwood FOS, London Motor Show, plus numerous other tasks. ( Including the use of a Phantom for a week )
It has been hard work but very rewarding. The only downside is I am now working 7 days a week in my office, with no time to play.
