Best way (for amounts over £8K)? ETF or just send a cheque? Where can I buy currency at the best rate?

I've used HIFX several times for Euros & Australian Dollars and they've alwasy given me the best rate.

I use XE everytime, you get real time exch rate and can click the buy/sell button whenever you want... It can make the difference of 100's with an amount of 8K...
