Following the recent threads discussing Vistaprint, I feel it necessary to make you aware of an apparent scam they are running.
Following a transaction, you are shown a screen telling you about Vistaprint rewards - membership of such gives you discounts at various retailers, or something.
What it doesn't tell you is that you are charged for this - Vistaprint already have your card details.
I have just received an e-mail telling me they will be charging me £9.95 a month for my membership and that to cancel I had to send my membership number, e-mail address, password, and full name.
I have replied asking them to cancel my membership at once and giving only my e-mail address and membership number, both of which were in the e-mail anyway, and informing them that I will be telling the bank so that they don't allow the transaction (is this possible) and that if I do not receive confirmation within 3 days that my membership has been cancel, I will be reporting them to trading standards and watchdog.
HOWEVER, a quick google search found plenty of pages with people saying they had been stung by the same thing and that they have never had any response nor contact from VP. One guy claims he got a pop up about VP Rewards but just closed the pop-up without accepting and his account has still been charged.

Doesn't sound very good. Seems like theres a catch to the cheap prices. I keep my prices down but never send any e-mails out when the client has ordered, only if they chose to go on my site and sign up to keep up to date on offers.
It's getting beyond a joke, 2 e-mails every day, I don't see the logic in it!

I recommend a much better (IMHO) service/product than VP.

Wider choice of designs, no nasty strings. Great quality, quick as a flash and the capability to transfer your card designs on to other stationery items. You can also upload your own artwork files.
Email offers maybe every couple of months (usually connected to new product, so therefore useful and welcome).

Yes but 50 for £9.95 plus no doubt p&p compared to 250 for just the cost of the p&p - I don't mind the e-mails coming through, and I certainly make good use of the offers, I was just very unimpressed at the scam... The e-mail was actually in my hotmail junk box, whereas the normal Vistaprint ones come straight through.

I remembered this post and lo and behold Vistaprint-uk have scammed my account for £9.95 and they don't respond to emails. What a waste of time and effort, I've disputed the payment with my credit card company.
Beware if you have done business with them, they will probably try to scam your account too.

I'm not arguing about the quality of the products themselves, but how could a company worth over a $billion risk ruining their reputation by scamming customers credit cards, it defies any logical reasoning of good customer care. Giving over credit card details and keeping you personal information safe is sacrosanct for an online business. Introduce doubt of any kind and and it will kill an online business.

Seconded. And the quality was poor too (but then they were cheap so can't complain)
What a pity they are turning into a 'Reader's Digest' type operation and rely on tricks to make money rather than printing.

Thats probably why they are worth over a billion.
