Scottish Small Claims Court?
Yes thought about this, but would this mean that i would have to attend the court in scotland should the person contest the debt, if so would cost more to go to scotland than the debt is worth
Does small claims not award you costs? If they do then she'd really better pay soon.
They may award costs through a "cost order" not guaranteed, may not include travelling expenses and at best is usually limited to 70 - 80% of the cost incurred. Given the size of the debt, even should a cost order be awarded, it still may not be viable.
If you pursue the claim it will be purely on moral grounds (IE I wont let you get away with it) if you are looking at purely financial reimbersment then I would forget it.
