Makro or costco?

Costco is much better IMHO - they sell a smaller range of much higher quality products.

Makro don't know who on earth they're selling to. Are they a warehouse selling to caterers and shop owners or are they a big supermarket selling to joe public? We just don't know! And they don't know! They are too expensive for the true trade and are too 'trade' for joe public.

Costco is a better solution, as long as you buy in big bulk. Makro has more 'brands' but is muddled as to its offer.

Costco for food and their small but good selection of branded items.
Makro for branded, offers, detergents etc but oh hell what a mess it can be in there at times.

Do both.

If I had to pick one, it would definitely be Costco...but fortunately as membership to Makro is free it doesn't hurt to have an account there too!

I went into macro to pick up some bits from work, ended up walking out with a 50" sony tv for £800 less than currys or the internet!!!!

I'd say Costco. After I went to one in Canada then heard one was opening locally, I haven't been back to my local Makro. I have to admit makro has better sweet selection though :P

Both. Costco is great for some things, Makro others, although I prefer Costco.

Costco all the way, although Makro does do good offers occasionally but make sure you look out for the Makro Mails.
