Has or does anyone here premote their business/website through myspace?? (or similar)

What do people think about it? I know it would have to be something that fits in.... Music is popular on there from what I have seen, and I guess that trying to premote a window cleaning business probably would work lol.

What are your views?

EDIT - I do not own myspace or conected with it in anyway.

Personally, I think it's a load of old rubbish, BUT a friend of mine has set up a MySpace site to promote his business and he claims that it's generated a reasonable amount of interest via the forums.

So, it might be worth a few hours effort.

I think the trouble with myspace is that it'd be hard for someone to randomly stumble across your page. You'd either need to spam other people on myspace with messages and links to your page (no guarantee they'll be local to you) or make lots of 'friends' on there so they put a link to your page on their own. I guess another option is to just use your myspace page as a normal website so put the link in forum sigs...etc

I think its rubbish, though it probably depends on your business,

My mate uses it lot a to find music photography gigs etc, however I think the vast majority of people who use it are probably sunlight shy teenagers / emo kids / goths etc. Unless this is your demographic I doubt it will drum up much business.

good for contacts, had a good night with one lady from it so far. bands are blocked as a default, anyone that spams me, gets reported to the abuse team and then for some reason their account dies

it is a networking site, maybe join a few forums and groups ?
