I've just started working on a recruitment project for Honda.

I've scoured the usual Monster, Jobsite, TotalJobs databases etc and found a few decent people... but it's taken me an absolute Ice-Age to do it.

Are there any industry specific websites or networking associations I can join to find more people?

I'm currently working with their purchasing department locating Engineering Buyers and I'd like to approach other manufacturers, once I've located a good source of candidates with the right skill-set.

Any help appreciated. Cheers beer

Cost? Website says it is free... Is that totally free, or free to join, £££'s to make contact?

Cheers

You could take a look on www.motortrader.co.uk they've got a fair old jobs database. You could also advertise on there.

Using it is free, however advanced features need a premium membership, which is under €6 per month iirc.
Searching so. by name is free; however searching so. by position and company returns results, but clicking them needs a premium membership.
Lots of headhunters use openbc, and people listed there are generally open to requests

Using the German mask, searching for "Position=Einkauf" (purchasing) and "Branch=Automotive" returns 198 results with people working at BMW, Johnson Controls, etc
