Just had a call centre monkey on the phone jabbering away about how he can make my business the centre of the universe, hundreds of new leads a month etc etc if I sign up with ufindus.com Just a £400 one time only sign up fee and just £60pcm thereafter. rolleyes

Now, I know I left my bargepole around here somewhere, but whilst I try and find it, can anyone confirm whether this will be the complete waste of time and money I think it is?

I don't know about this one but personally I'm always suspicious about something with a high sign up fee and then a lower (relative to the sign up fee) monthly payment. If a service is good then I'm prepared to pay for it on a monthly basis - it just makes me think it's going to be crap but once you've paid the high upfront amount it will be too late!

I agree, although I would agress as, anyone who knows me knows I'm in the process of launching a business in competition to these lot ;-)

You're right, why anyone would pay an up front fee and then monthly charges regardless of revenue generated is beyond me.

I'm having enough trouble getting businesses to sign up for a pay-per-lead service that has no registration fees, no monthly fees, nothing at all except a single, VERY small charge for each lead they get.

Cheers,

JC

I'm on the TPS and they constantly bombarded me with calls despite that. In the end I threatened them with all sorts and also complained to the TPS, heard nothing for a while.

Hi The_Londoner,

I WOULD SERIOUSLY stay as clear as you can from 'ufindus.com'. I have known of one issue regarding someone I know where ufindus.com (sister company of iomart.com) have taken money from their credit card without authorisation from the owner of the card ! They have done this to two seperate people (who have no links with one another) They then tried to take the same amount of money for the following year without autherisation from the card owner. Luckily for this person the credit card had been cancelled and when 'Ufindus.com' tried to take that same amount for the following year, they had no success (the owner of the card had been notifed of the attempts).

This person then reported them to the 'Which' magazine and the consumer rights organisation in Scotland (where the ufindus.com office is based).

Whenever this person then phoned to talk to someone about them taking money without autherisation they would get an embaressed switchboard lad who said that if you fax through to them they will get back to you. They never got a reply !

They would NEVER reply to any calls or faxes which were made.

The second person which I mentioned had an 'old' credit card registered because he had previously used them however asked to terminate his account which they agreed to do. Obviously they never did and then some months later finds out they are taking money off his account using his old credit card. WITHOUT autherisation !

So the basic peice of advice which I am sure you get the hint of !......
Stay clear of ufindus.com
