Silly question but i'm considering moving abroad and wondered what I need to keep in order to prove to the IR (if required) of my days in/out the country or do they simply keep count each time I flash my passport?

I think they would check phone bills, rental agreements etc etc...

'They' I presume being HMRC? laugh

If you are planning to move abroad for a favourable income tax position, I would imagine you would have to demonstrate working and earning in that country, certainly for a percentage of the year...

If you are planning on moving to spain, and living there for more than 6 months of the year you have to pay your tax´s in spain, not so bad though as the tax is a reciprocal agreement, so you wont pay the same tax twice.
AS for your question, yes your passport would be the proof, as would your coucil tax bill, and place on the electoral role. ATB
