"I was solely responsible for the design during the entire duration of the project"

Ah, yes it means "I did nothing else than the design".
Hmmm, for the latter, you could say "The sole responsibility for the design was mine for the entire duration of the project".
Third language? The parent language of the company?
Oh my! They're good to work for though, I'll give them that!
No speeding in Switzerland!
OT: I just bought my third car, for 500 euros, TUV until 8.2007, it's a distributor pump 1994 diesel (pre-pumpedoese!). It's done 360,000 klicks, but a guy who worked for VAG said it's no sweat for an engine like this.
Aye, native company language - although they want the applicant to manage design for Germany. Let's see what happens - they want to open a design center for the other brand near us in 2007; maybe something in there
My 2CV banger hasn't passed the TÜV and I'm currently looking for an interim-banger. Something that is mostly driven by pensioners. As soon as I see one with low mileage that doesn't smell of wee, I'll grab it

Rover?(pensioners car)
I've never owned one, but I could reccommend a Rover 600 series, they're very cheap (in England) and solid little Honda Accords underneath, if you can stand the image. I think they're quite good looking too.
I didn't want to risk being labelled a blinkered bearded pro-England/anti BMW/German jingoist by owning one in the UK.
Over here might be different...

But being responsible is different from actually doing it! He could have been the only one doing it or done none of it and had 1,000 people working for him...
All very true.
Sounds like you have experience
I have reworded the original sentence to I had the sole responsibility for the design during the entire project.
I guess that's understandable; this is just to make clear that the resulting design of the object (which is referenced elsewhere) can be used to judge my skills.
As for the car, I'm looking for a W201/W124 Merc in mud/green/white or brown metallic which was the favourite choice of pensioners. The silver and black ones were all used by underclass gold chain-wearing used car buyers who spent all their budget on lax poweresque mods without having left any for a decent main dealer service or two every 10k. The Mercedes, and this ist the beef, has an anticipated life span (as in viable between cost and reliability) of 12 years or unlimited (up to that era) when used normally or by a pensioner. 'Round here, Mercedes offers new original wear parts for older models with a substantial rebate compared to when they were new. It's actually possible to continue the FSH with a 12 year old car at reasonable cost.
The Rover however; I guess it's seven years which would be Honda-standard. A pensioner-Merc will most likely have been treated like a life-time achievement by their owners, especially a W201, since it was the first Mercedes range that came into reach of less wealthier people who wanted a Mercedes badly.
Rovers never had a bad image in Germany, apart from a bit of British Leyland flavour from which Jaguar suffered a lot more. The SD1 were as individualist as Citroens in their era, and the later models like the 100/200/400/600 benefited from the Mini's posh image. When BMW owned Rover, the 600s were popular as unmarked police cars in Hesse. Rover even used the anti-wally image in its advertising campaigns. The symbol of a fuddy-duddy driver is a hat, and Rover supplied stickers with the 400/600 models like a prohibition sign with hat in the center that is the prohibited object. Anyway, they were deemed more hedonist than a Honda Accord then.

Very interesting Bodo!
I like old Mercs. I know alot of German folks laugh at the 190 series W201s but I like them alot too. It was always my fathers ambition to own one, a bit of a "911" to him, unfortunately he never got too as he had a stroke before he was able to find the right one. He always persisted in wanting a manual one!
In this day and age of dispoable New-Mini-esque trendy shite, old durable Mercs are refreshing to me!
I was in the process of convincing Jonna to get a Merc W124 4 matic for Finland as a replacement for her smashed Corrolla, until someone at work was critical about some problems the 4 matic system had. Do you know anything about that? In Finland Mercs W124s and Jap cars are very popular and I don't think that's by accident or whim.
I wish the W114/5 strich 8s were galvanised because I think they're the most delicious (but after experiencing the severe rust of my W123...
) but would you expect anything less from the car that was styled by the same guy who styled the E21?
PS: Rover 600s seem to be dirt cheap in the UK but NOT in Germany for some reason...
Where as Golfs are cheap in both countriesp-supply and demand?

Oh yes, the latest 190ers are really balanced in styling. I especially like the straight lines, the wider darker toned sideskirts and the 15-hole wheels or the plain anthracite hub caps with the chrome ring. Very subtle.
As for 4matics, I don't know - a buyers guide mentioned that the transfer box needs to visit the dentist at times for €2k a session - but there are many stellar-mileage examples on the usual markets mobile.de, autoscout24... (here) When you want to view some in the Rhein-Main area, I'll join you. Some even have been driven by pensioners and are available from the first or second owner
