I have 2 mortgages (one on a btl) but i've never really used forward planning to obatain one. Bearing in mind interest rates seem to be reviewed on a monthly basis, I would like to get a quote as soon as possible - that will not expire before May 19th 2007. The reason, I will be moving into my btl property.

I could apply to a few companies but I thought i'd ask you guys first. I know it's for a few months given that it takes quite a long time to complete on a property purchase.
Thanks in advance.

Get all the quotes you like, but most mortgage companies will make an offer for 3 months or 6. They may i.e. if the rate suits them, extend it. Choose a 6 month one and you'll be fine.

Oh and you will shortly have mail.

Thanks for your e-mails. I do have a couple of options with regards to my properties and mortgages. Either way I will be looking for at least one new mortgage deal (if I sell my residence) but I would consider remortgaging my place in November 2007 when my tie in ends if I don't.

I used a local mortgage broker when I was looking for my btl mortgage and I got as good a service as I could have wished for. Being a 2 minute walk (literally because I am in the town centre) was also a bonus for signing anything or enquiries from either him or myself.

But I will bear you in mind. Particularly if he charges me £500 again. I got a £500 cheque from my lender so it made no difference.

Cheers again. I'm glad I asked the question. It looks as though I can get a deal now and get the ball rolling.

Up to that point I was going to say , you're local to him, and happy with the service, so use him. Charging you a fee just means he gets paid twice for the same work.
