Anyone here using this French Govt scheme for property purchase / rental / investment ?

I'm looking to buy in France, but various websites dealing with this method have conflicting information relating to the scheme and where it can be applied.

I'm looking to buy either new or an older property in the Herault area of the Languedoc

Any thoughts folks ?

Hi,

I have a couple of friends doing this, however as i understand it only really makes sense if you are paying (ie earning you money) in France, as the mortgage can be offset against your tax. As a non resident I'm not sure its applicable. Talk to a French mortgage expert - there are many on angloinfo.com
cheers
