My husband and I are just about to rent an industrial unit for a new start-up business and the owner (who happens to be my Dad) has said that we need to insure the building. We have contacted two insurance brokers we know, one was the NFU who haven't got back to us yet and the other was a local insurance broker who we feel was a bit expensive on the quote of over £600.

Could any one recommend any insurance companies/brokers as I need to get something sorted out pretty quick?

This should not be too difficult to arrange. There will be local brokers who can arrange this, have a look on yell.com.

I can highly recommend AXA. I am unsure as to whether they will deal directly with you, but may offer names of local brokers. Further, they are not cheap but they offer good cover, and certainly do pay out fairly and timely.

I can help with his. Many insurers have a minimum premium of, say, £500 for a policy. However, if you combine the buildings insurance with your other insurance needs, (stock, contents, liabilities, etc.) it might well work out to be more cost effective.

PM me if interested.
