Anybody worked with them (rather than being overseen by them).

I just wondered what the prevailing issues and culture were as I have a tender I was thinking of submitting and wanted to see what buttons to push. I wanted to know if they were 'cautious' and pverly concerned with external perceptions of them as transparent and fair, or liked to be seen as risk takers, bullish and 'corporate and business like' by the financial services sector. What issues have they had with their own staffing which might have given them bad press recently?

Their web site have the 'Making a difference' speeches by the CEO and Chairman and I have their business plan. Nothing in the usual google that they have had press around corrupt/incompetent staff of late or any employmnet tribunals that have cost them money and reputation. You get the idea I think?

One of their aims is to promote transparency and understanding of financial services and its products. You would assume they would therefore want to be seen to be transparent in their operation.

That was my thought: replicate in the services to them the qualities of the service they aim to provide.

A large number of FSA staff have direct experience of the industries they regulate (remember their remit is very wide, Deutsche Bank and our firm have very different places in the financial world but the FSA regulate us both.) Some of the people I've spoken to are extremely business like, others take a more relaxed approach.

Are they transparent..... well I suppose if you can make head or tail of the MCOB/ICOB rules they may well be. Some of their rules are ,as Minimax alluded to, downright daft.

Bit late response, I know.

Have been with them (am still) for coming-on 8 years now.

Despite all the changes and upheavals over the years - there is certainly a concerted effort to be, and to be seen to be 'whiter than white'.

HTH.
