need an easy to use account application

I need to buy an accounts application to keep a record of the ins and outs of the company, but with many to choose from i am not sure on what would be the best one to pick.

I want something that is easy to use, something that is recognised by accountants and something that doesn't need updating all the time.
It would be nice if it could also do my invoices and quotes too, but not necessary.

Would like to keep the cost below £100 if possible.

Any ideas?

Taking a look at the Quick books reg there is a version that is Fully accredited by HM Revenue and Customs. Why would one need this, any advantages over the version that doesn't have it? Only ask as is commands an extra £50.

It means that they would not feel they needed to check the underlying software when carying out VAT or tax checks of any sort.
