Has anybody used an on-line resource that they would recommend for determining suitable career choices for people?

By this I mean a questionnaire that profiles ones skills and makes suitable career options as aopposed to just a personality profiling tool.

People maps seems a well publicised one but not sure how accurate or specific it is or if there are better options.

When I was at school around GCSE time, we did something similar to this.

I think it was called JIG or something like that, may not exist now though as that was about 13 years ago!!

JIGCAL!

I think!

It told me that I would suit being a forester.

(I am not a forester by the way...)

These things are only as good as the way they are programmed and how the programmer thinks the questions are mathematically relevant and how they think their categories of abtitude fit a certain job.

The main problem is that it also relies upon the person answering the questions knowing and assessing their own skills accurately - this is something which many people are poor at.

So, all in all these things are there, but I wouldnt take what they say as anything else than ideas of a new type of job you may be interested in to consider further, no more.
