Selling products to high street chain/supermarkets
Discussion
Hi ALL
Basically i currently develop/import products and sell them online. Been doing it for a 2 years and going well. But now i believe i have set up products that i can sell to major high street chains. How would one go about doing this? (apart from contacting them, i know). Has anyone on forum done such a thing?.
Im just looking for general advice to point me in the right way. Products i do are electrical/gadget based.
Thanks in advance

From my experience trying to do the same a few years ago with sports related goods, I would take a trip to Boots first and buy a large jar of KY jelly. They will try and beat your margins down to a tiny sliver between what it costs you to get the stuff into the UK and what they will pay you. Of course if you sell huge volumes those tiny slivers will add up, so good luck!
I already use containers and quantity is not a problem, infact we already do this. My busienss partner is in china, thats where are manufacturing plant is. Thanks for the replies so far but what would be the best route for the items i want to sell, go to a distributor who i assume will take a cut or approach individual companies themselives?. I am aware it is not going to be easy but its worth a shot.
