Hi Everyone,

I've just started a job for a new company (which has actually bought the assets of my old employer), and as part of my 'incentive package' the company has offered a bonus structure targeted specifically at repaying my student loan (My current salary is under the repayment threshold), the idea being that in 6 months, I get a bonus to pay off a big chunk of my student loan, and then again 6 months after that, assuming I meet my targets.

I understand that student loan repayments (when paying the regular per month repayments) come out before tax - is there a way for the company to make the bonus payment in a similar manner. I.e. can I have my company repay the student loan out before tax rather than after tax, as that's be worth a fair few quid!

Cheers Everyone,

Fatboy

Student loan repayments come out after tax so it's a fair deal IMO.

I thought it seemed like a good deal, I was just hoping there might be a more tax efficient way I could do it - but if the repayments come out after tax anyway, it's a moot point.

Cheers!
