I am currently look for another apartment in West London to do-up/develop. I havent looked for a year and am quite startled at how many on findaproperty.com etc are alreay renovated.

A friend reccomended a property finder guy who charges £400 a day (!) plus 2% of the purchase price (!!). They apparently they look thru all the deceased adverts etc and trawl around looking for places not yet on the market.

Has anyone had any experience of this kind of service?

I have always just looked on websites like http://www.rightmove.co.uk/

£400/day + 2%?!... that's a hefty sum!!
