7/47 * advisory fuel rate for your engine size.

I think.

So that leads to another question as a follow on,

What is te difference between the 10p per mile rate from HMRC for my 1.9l Diesel and the 40p per mile I can claim in tax releif?

Is the 10p just the fuel claim, and 40p the whole hog?

I recall that on my company car I used to claim 9p a mile in fuel from which the company reclaimed the VAT, now I claim 40p a file for my own car and hand in the petropl recipts and the company then claim the VAT on just the fuel element (the 9p) as they did before. I have it fic=gured in the comopany spraedsheets to calculate it based on my mileage submission.
