Image schmimage, if the cost-return ratio works and you'll get customers out of it then I'd go for it.

It is a bit synonymous with "make £1000000000000 a week/day/hr sitting at home" type ads, but I would never discount a company on the basis they advertised that way. For a lot of people it may put the idea in their head to call.

Agreed.

However...

the funniest one I have seen is one which proclaims about the new anti-mobile phone whilst driving laws and selling the fitting of hands-free kits...

...fine, but you have to write their number down whilst you are driving past!

Have you considered sponsoring a roundabout? They can be pretty cost effective.

A couple of years back Camden council took out an ASBO against some Sony execs for flyposting. Rightly so too.

They look horrible when put up and worse as they gradually deteriorate. IMHO they are suitable only for cheesy garage or RnB nights at the local chav emporium.

And IIRC Camden council spend something like quarter of a million a year removing them, that means as well as making an area look pikey it costs me money.

Why not scrawl your company name on a wall in marker pen, it gives much the same effect.

Enlighten me how zip-tying a corrugated card poster to railings would constitute defacing a street sign?

Regarding lamposts, when the plastic ties are cut and removed, sometimes the paint protecting the post is worn/scratched away causing rusting/ premature failure of the metal underneath.....

That's what I read once anyway......scratchchin.....

I've only ever seen them attached to pedestrian crossing railings as this puts them at better eye level.

In other news, does this mean every main political party knowingly breaks the law when campaigning for local elections etc? Every single lampost gets a smattering then.

The metal under the lampost paint is galvanised round my way incidentally.
