Hi

I'd like to know if it's possible to register a tagline, if so how is it done?

Thanks

It's a trademark. You register it as you would a name.

I think you'd actually put the ™ symbol after the tagline to signify you are using it as an unregistered trademark.

To the OP - You automatically own the rights to content you create, a tagline would be included in that as a book would be. However that doesn't really offer much protection in the real world. You'd want to register the trademark for that.

Registering a trademark is a case of filling in a form and paying £200, waiting a few months to allow someone to contest your registration and once registered you use the ® symbol.

See http://www.ipo.gov.uk/tm/ for more information.
