I'm running an event in a few weeks time when i will require some security staff to remain on site overnight as there's some temporary structures going up with valuable gear in and there will be other valuable gear secured on site.

Anyone have an idea of what sort of rates i should expect. 7pm til 7am would about cover it and it would need 2 staff on site at all times.

Depends. I used to work for one of the big-three security firms and they worked on minimum wage (or very little over and above) a lot of the time! But then they employed dross for the most-part.

I used to work for a security company and can put you in touch with my ex-colleague Ops Manager who has run security for events/parties/concerts across the south-east on many occassions. Make sure they have the right insurance and provide licensed staff.

If its just lookng after the site for the night and not actual security for the event, dont you know someone who will stay there for the night?

If anyone does come lookng to steal, any security guards would only call the police anyway, I doubt they are insured to tackle any enquisetive Pikeys.
