Terms and Conditions
Discussion
Hello
Am looking into "Terms and Conditions" for provision of a service or sale of a product for my start up. I have done some research into this but it all seems very market specific.
How do most companies get their terms and conditions that you see on websites?
Are the T+Cs that you agree to when registering any different?
If a template is used and then adapted to the specific company, how is it made watertight?
Is it best to just get the solicitor to just draw them up to use?
Thoughts please!

I've been through this a couple of times with various start-ups. I've tried doing this on a shoestring by using borrowed T&Cs that other people have offered.
Its taken while, but I've finally learnt that the only way to achieve robust, professional T&Cs is to commission a commercial solicitor to draw them up from scratch. Surprisingly its not as expense as it sounds and may even be cheaper in the long run if it gives the right level of protection.
Using a commercial solicitor has certainly given me the feeling of confidence in our T&Cs, which is one less thing to worry about - that almost makes it worth the investment alone.
