Hi
I am starting a new company in the new year as a Limited company
and it will be a partnership.
i have decided to go with lloyds bank but before i open a account i have to register at Companies House
it looks a little long winded and some web based companies offer a New Company Service for £200 ready to go and set up in your required name for £250 has anyone ever used this service ?
is it worth while or should i just do it all through Companies House.
Thanks in advance

Is it a Ltd company or a partnership as they are different things? If it's the latter then no need to sign up with Companies House at all as far as I am aware, just the Revenue for the NI. Ltd company from the outset may be overkill and will increase the admin etc.

It will cost a lot less through Companies House direct.

My first Ltd when I was 19 I got screwed by an agency. I found out later that for what they were charging they were actually only checking the Companies House website to see if my chosen name was available!

That said, there are a few agencies now which are quite economical.

I used Companies Made Simple recently. Their basic package is £25 for a very quick turnaround.

Just an aside but take a little look at the finance/banking stuff from the Co-operative Bank through the FSB. Free banking and a few other useful bits and pieces as well.
