Covering Letter

Need some help please folks.
Am a little fed up where I am, I'm managing plenty of clients, doing pretty much as I please, everything is delegated, point is, I don't really enjoy it. The responsibility/flexibility is good, but to be truthful, I enjoyed getting stuck in working on accounts, now all I tend to be doing is reviewing and seeing clients, and getting involved on more complicated stuff. Cut a long story short, I'm applying for a job abroad, stacks of money (double) but I've not written a covering letter for 7 years. I'd be really grateful if someone could give me a decent example. It's in the oil industry if that helps?
If I could get this job it'd be superb, I could clear the mortgage in 3-4 years, then set up self employed, which is what i've always wanted to do, but with less risks as I have 2 young children.
