Does anyone know of any websites which has a few questions on it which will allow you to say if you are basic, moderate, advanced etc with excel, powerpoint etc

Working on CV at the moment and I don't know how good I am with these programmes.

Alternatively, if no such websites exist, what skills in excel would you call basic, moderate, advanced?

Interesting question.

Of course, there is no definitive way of rating yourself which will ben understood exactly in the same way as a potential employer. The only thing you can do is test to a recognised standard.

I think one is called Clait. I did it at uni, however in 'real life' I dont even know what I learnt or how it was assessed...!

At the end of the day, put what you feel like you would be happy backing up.

I break it down this way (in simple terms)

For Excel if you can enter data and do simple manipulation (such as making the contents of cell C1 = A1+B1 and display data via simple graphs and charts that would be basic skill level.

Moderate or skilled would be making use of the built in formulas and using more advanced data display (such as pivot tables).

Advanced skill is using VBA (or other means) for expanding the capabilities of Excel to handle the tasks that you are working on.

Similar measures are used for the other MS Office products.
