Does anyone have any tips on decent banks? I'm currently with Abbey but thinking of switching.

Cater Allen pay a decent enough amount of interest, and no charges if you don't need many transactions per month...

Avoid Natwest I opened a Business Account and it was nothing but problems, took 3.5 months for them to open the account, I could never get hold of my business manager, and they failed to tell me that '2 years free banking' actually means you wont get interest on your account, its not where on the ads.

If you have a personel account with them as well as I had had for 26years, your business manager then becomes your 'portfolio manager' (again I was never told about this) so any questions you have regarding your personnel account have to go through him.
If you open your account online you can deal with the call centre, I wanted to change to this set up but Natwest told me I would need to reapply for a new account FFS I already had a business account with them.

And dont believe the ads on the tV that they are not trying to sell you something. My business manager called me over 50 times in one to try and get me to sign up to a pension even offering to travel 50miles to my house to get me to sign.

In process of closing all my accounts with Natwest, easily the worse customer services experience I have ever had, I esculated it but it was never resolved. Natwest have serious problems in there Business Banking setup.
