considering that it has peaked from $250 to over $1000 per ounce, this might not be the best time to invest ?

We keep getting posts about buying gold. As the experts write, it is too late when the guy on the street finally gets in on the action.

PS I hear property is doing well... hehe

$800 an ounce in 1980 before the decline so I imagine there *could* be a way to go yet if inflation adjusted figures are anything to go by - not that I am buying into that 100%

Surely property is at a good stage to buy at the moment? - Or is there more room to fall?

currently in a house that paid 70k for, was worth 120k, but worth more to me as a home that not need to strip and move every few years... it all works and works well

surely it is worth what someone is willing to buy/sell it at? So it could be marketed at 2.5 million if someone wanted to - doesn't make it worth that.

A friend of mine dumped £1.5m of shares in exchange for gold about 6 months ago. He's very happy!

The "experts" are starting to think that gold is a safer bet than entrusting Barclays or the treasury with his hard earned cash. There is a distrust of the banking system and as long as that distrust exists, there is a good chance that gold will continue to rise.
Agreed - so is buillionvault considered the best place for a holding purchase of say 6 months, or is it more a live trading site ?
