Can anyone recommend a good set of general office chairs, whats the best make, what looks good, and what doesn’t cost a fortune! And probably most of all is good on the back and bum!

Thanks.

You need an operators chair... they will cost you upwards of £75 anything less won't be up to the job, imho.

I think we paid £75 for a chair, which was a cheap one, the others were about 120-140.. If you're in the High Wycombe (Buckinghamshire) area we went to Hunts Furniture.. They were good - although they were showing us the £200+ stuff initially..
Got them to settle down to £75.. It's been okay, but really you should be looking at almost double that.

The Aeron stuff is very good - sometimes a bargain can be found..

Interesting comments.

Sitting in a chair hurts? I'd suggest not phoning him whilst he is ironing, for you own peace of mind.

I've thousands of hours in an Aeron and they are the best, by some margin.

You could try: www.physio24-7.co.uk

We have bought a few of these recently and they're pretty good and designed for 24/7 use, so they're very hard wearing.

Plus you can spec them in any fabric/leather and colour scheme you like, delivery is about a week. We have spec'ed ours in our corporate colours.

Send me a private mail and I can give you details of who to speak to if you don't want to pay list price.

All I can say to those comments, is that they obviously don't have right sized chair - If the front egde cuts off their circulation to their legs, the chair they have is too big for them, as the leading edge tapers away and has a rubber "block" for that exact reason, so it doesn't cut off circulation. Pelice shredding clothes - they shouldn't buy cheap crap then, never been a problem in 5 years of ownership. Arms difficult to adjust? WTF? They need to improve their IQ over 10 then, it's just a wheel you loosen, move the arm, tighten again, it's not rocket science, lol. Comments are also based on the original version of the chair, for the past 5+ years it's been available with a highly adjustable lumbar support that you can change the depth on.

I think its personal preference. Personally I find the Aeron chairs over rated.
