Anyone have any experience of exporting to China?

Just asked this in P&P before remembering the business section.

Been looking into this and thought I would ask the PH massive. Does anyone have any experience of exporting hardware/software from the US to China? If so, how long did it take to clear customs, any local issues I should be aware of? I see that local VAT is charged at 17% on pretty much all imports in China but are there any other taxes I should be aware of?
