Another fun thread.

If you woke up tomorrow and you'd lost everything, what would you do?

I agree, but how would you start up a new venture without any capital at all?

I lost everything when MT closed the Midlands. My wife and I lost our jobs and eventually our house. We ended up in the middle of nowhere in a rented cottage on the dole, job hunting was the hardest thing with no computer but through agencies I found a job in Cambridge, had the interview and got the gig. Next I had to find cheap digs and find a way of getting the family down there with me, not easy with no money for a deposit but by talking to people and persisting I found us a lovely big old converted Nursery owned by a lovely old chap who was Landlord in a pub where I got good cheap grub. Just over 10 years later we both have good jobs that we both enjoy and a decent roof over our heads.
You just keep going because the alternative is unacceptable

Interestingly I've been pondering this very question over the last month or so...

On the verge or saying fk it selling up taking whats left and come back when I've run out of money...

I reckon I could get by for the next 10 year, but then I'd be skint with nothing...

I say do it.
You only regret what you don´t do in life*, not what you have tried.
The worst comes to the worst and atleast you will have a good story to tell.
Besides you could be hit by a bus tomorrow...
My only advice is to pack very light and go somewhere hot.

  • although getting my whole back tattooed is proving to be very sore.

Worry about everyone else in the samme boat; hopefully the planning is such that is how bad things would have to get before I 'lost everything'.
