I want to get a loyalty card system for my restaurant. Does anyone know how much that sort of thing costs? I want to be able to offer some sort of reward for the amount the customer spends, for example every £10 they spend they get a point when they accrue 10 points they get a bottle of wine. If I can get hold of their details in the process of issuing the card I can send them offers etc.

IMHO: KISS

Print out some leaflets and get a signature on it each time they visit.

It would be the cost of the leaflets + whatever you give away.

Sounds like you’re thinking of something electronic along the lines of Nectar. If so, the cost of kit and cards will not be commensurate with the additional income.

Simple is best. Get customers to sign up to your “email newsletter” and post them special offers. They also get a card stamped (as per Café Nero).

I think the stamp thing is the best bet. Most stationery suppliers will be able to get a custom stamp made for you for £30 or so.

Keeps it a bit less formal and corporate. Also people can see how close they are to accruing the necessary points which they won't be able to do with a swipe based loyalty card system.
