Sage Question: Setting Budgets and forecasting and stuff
Discussion
I'd quite like to get a handle on exactly what we are spending each month, to try and maximize the amount of money left over for my back pocket!
It occurred to me that if we set our budgets as a percentage of sales revenue each month rather than fixed monetary values, it would ensure we trimmed spending in the hard times, and fueled maximum growth during the good times.
Firstly, can Sage help with forecasting stuff?
And secondly, are there any good books or online resources that deal with planning budgets?

If you go into each nominal account on sage you can set budgets, and then do various reports for budget vs. actual etc.
The also offer a package called sage forecasting which is more of a cash flow thing, I think. If you give them a call they'll probably let you have an evaluation version.
