Appreciate any feedback from construction PH members.

We manufacture products used within the external facade, on a supply basis only, and just wondered what was the your "rule of thumb" in terms of legal cost/benefit in resolving disputes on constructions contracts.

Generally if we supply a site and their is a dispute under £40k we would not choose to fight legally and just negotiate costs to minimise losses. The cost for legal arbitration or other seems so exceesive even if you are adamant the claim is unfair (e.g delays re site availability, site damage etc etc.)

Construciton is a small part of my business and would certainly appreciate your feedback.

Adjudication is your friend in small disputes. Start up cost and running them if you don't go to the big boys can be reasonable but you may run the risk in the apportionment of the Adjudicators sosts when he makes his decision dependant on the nature of the dispute and whether it is clear cut or not.

The best part of the process from your point of view is that from start to finish you're looking at 42 days and then 7 days further to receive any monies awarded. Or then judge

From our experience the threat is usually a good starting point to resolution.

Any specific issues send me a pm.
