After 7 years of running my own business I have just seen what must be close to my dream job advertised with a large motor manufacturer.

I must confess I am tempted to hand the business over to the OH to run (she can run the part which puts basic bread and butter on the table without me, I just provide the jam).

Pro's. Right job, large company who say they are going places and I would be their subject expert doing just the things I enjoy rather than the things my list of self centred clients want me to do. Money is about what I have been earning through the business but of course it is guaranteed every month and things have been slow business wise of late, and it comes with two high end company cars and a final salary pension. They are offering relocation fees but I could do it without moving fully by buying a local flat and traveling home when I can.

Cons. Probably loads of international travel which I know gets tedious after a while. See less of the OH.

Anybody made the move back to working for a corporate giant after running their own business? Good or bad move?

My advice based on what you have said is go for it, good thing about a perm job is that you are only a 1 or 2 month notice period away from reverting back if you change your mind ;-) so whats too lose.
