Do you folks who run your own company use the HMRC allowance for annual events?

I believe it's 2 annual events at £150 per head for both myself and my partner. I usually put a slap up Christmas meal thourhg, but haven't used teh summer one in the past adn am considering whether I could put a cheap £200 weekend away through...

No it's £75 per employee p/a - the company secretary counts as one if that helps.

My accountant said don't do it, it's just a slap in the face for the inland revenue (his words). Then again he's like a boy scout compared to some accountants.

A whole £75 wow................... It is so much money to reward a hard working work force for making a large contribution to the Governments coffers.

Better cancel my super car track day......wink

Hi

It is £150 per head; the guidance posted before is a bit out of date.

Oh Yes. Had a weekend away on it last year and the year before we flew to Jersey on business, stayed on an extra two nights with dinnner. At the very least you should have a good meal out. A few years ago we went to The Merchant House at Ludlow for an evening meal and lunch a few months later. As long as you don't exceed the £150 PH you are fine.

But beware, AIRC if you go over the £150 the last event doesn't qualify, so if the last lunch is £50 and that takes you to £155, that whole last £50 can't be counted.

In fact you have just remined me to fix up this years shin-dig.
