I'm expecting an offer of a new job tomorrow. If I get it they want me to start on 15th September. I am on 4 weeks notice! Do I hand in my notice exactly 4 weeks before I leave or do I do it on Monday and give my present company more time to get a replacemnt?
If I hand notice in on Monday, can they make me leave after 4 weeks?

I wouldn't hand in your notice until you have the offer in writing.
At that stage, I would then hand it in - you might get a little break before starting your new position
Otherwise, if you don't want the little holiday, time it so you end up working until your due to start the next job

I am in your position.. But i have until october to start my new job and currently on 4 weeks notice.
Do i give notice of not???
To answer the OP problem, i have been thinking if i give my notice will they kick me out after 4 weeks so i am jobless and incomeless for 4 weeks until the new contract kicks in! I am holding off at the moment just in case they boot me out or it makes life dificult from the day i give my letter in!

The notice period in your CoE relates to the time the company is obliged to pay you for and that you are obliged to work. So, if you are a sales person, upon handing in your notice it is normal for you to be shown the door that very day but the company will still have to pay you whatever is agreed.Do i give notice of not???

If you hand in your notice and walk the same day of your own volition, then you are in breach of contract and the company not liable to pay you. In fact, as you are in breach, they could sue you for the cost of temporary replacement, etc..
In any other scenario, you are required to work that period of notice, after which, your contract with the company is terminated as is their obligation to pay you.
Any arrangement beyond this comes down to the relationship between you and your existing employer.
Best advice is not to burn bridges and any employer will appreciate as much time as possible to arrange a replacement,
