I'm not too clued up on ebay, other than buying the odd thing here and there. Browsing the "job lots" section, there seems to be a lot of the usual too good to be true stuff. However, these sellers seem to have great feedback. What's going on?

The example that got me asking was seeing four Quicksilver t-shirts for £1 or something. Assumig they're not real, how are the sellers still allowed on ebay, and why do they all seem to have good, established feedback?

It could be a hacked account. Do you have a link to the listing?

There was a very good article on the ebay site, explaining that feedback can be faked and even purchased. I have just been on the ebay website to try and find it but no joy.

I have purchased some dodgy stuff from ebay in the past. Because I paid via paypal I managed to get my money back though!

The 4 Quiksilver t-shirts might be £1 at the moment, however if it's an auction this would be the opening bid to get early interest/bids, i.e. they are confident the final price will be higher, and that they will probably make a profit in the long run. Also, the postage/packaging might be highish to offset some of the cost

Just did a a quick check and any batches of quicksilver t shirts as you say, have a low start to entice people to bid. Oh, and they seem to come from Hong Kong, the home of replicas.... though they may be genuine

Also noticed postage was £21.99, which would beef up the overall price...

Aah, ok. It was a kinda dumb question, but I'm not a big ebay user.

Probably what I was looking at were a combination of starting bids, fakes and post&packagig type angles. Cheers!

Not everyone on e-Bay is a crook. Yes there are those who are 'working' the system but that's true in all business forums.
