Business Bank Debit Card:

I need to open a business account that will give me a debit card straight away. I dont need to borrow or need an overdraft, I can put 10k in as an opening balance. I need a debit card to pay for cars at auction, debit cards are not charged commission at the auction, where as creditcards are. Does anyone know a bank that will allow me to open a business account and give me a debit card straight away. The Halifax say I have to have a business account for one year before they will give me a debit card any one know. cheers

Royal Bank of Scotland gave us one straight away, but we did transfer to them from HSBC, not sure what there rules are on new business start ups

Alliance & Leicester gave me one straight away (I'm a sole trader) and they don't charge for banking services for the first year (IIRC)

Easy to apply - fill in the details online, then form sent to you for signature, sign & fax it back. Job done.

CoOp gave me one for my startup Ltd Co.

Lloyds TSB gave me one for one of my businesses straight away, only took a few days to arrive too.

As did Barclays for me and Natwest before them - I can't believe Halifax won't give a debit card from the getgo, seems a bizarre decision.

Snap. Shame their interest rates on the business accounts have gone right down whilst base rates have stayed the same.

HSBC will give you one straight away unless you have a really bad credit rating.

I use Abbey- free business account with debit card.

abbey - debit card straight away - any amount to open your account with them - i have just moved to them. i used to be with A&L - terrible and now can not recomend anyone but abbey!
