I am looking into organising wreck scuba diving tours of the UK for overseas visitors. Probably wanting 10 rooms for 1 to 2 nights in different locations through out UK.
MY question is, how does the hotel industry work, do I have to book, say 10 rooms at the hotel, then sell the tours to my customers, and then pay for any rooms not used. Or do I just book and pay for the rooms as my customers book up? Any help appreciated.

Hobson's Choice....

Book blocks of rooms and you'll get the best rates BUT you will have to pay for them regardless of whether you sell the places.

Wait until you have sold the places and you don't get the good rates and there's a chance that space will be gone.

Bigger the risk - the bigger the profit - the bigger the loss of there is one.

Dependent on the terms of the hotel, but bookings.com lets you book lots of places and cancel a day before at no cost....
