Hi All

We've been doing business mobiles for a while now and am looking to setup a website to expand the business. We're thinking of going along the dial-a-fone kind of model and go for volume. If you're not familiar with daf they offer a free gift based on contract term like PSP,iPod etc.

Question is what sort of free gift / incentive would business users be interested in?.. The commissions are good enough to offer sat nav and laptops etc. and the business contracts are more secure from fraud due to the additional checks etc.

Any thoughts?..

Also has anyone had any experience in developing this kind of web site?..

I once got a decent cheque-back offer from a similar site. It was a hassle to actually claim the money, so an "automatic money back every quarter" scheme would get my interest.

But to actually answer your question, there's been a few of us here that have recently changed mobile providers in order to take advantage of various offers, so with this in mind I think you'll need to have a few options.

We've had employee move to get a PS3, one to get an ipod and others move in order to save money. I moved my personal phone contract to tie in with my broadband...

If you're looking to give an incentive linked to business contracts then a gift that will be beneficial to a company would be worth looking at, ie laptops, sat navs, blackberry, pda? From a business perspective here though just a cracking deal on minutes and line rental would be good enough to secure a contract without the gimmick, so maybe you could work some of the commision money back to the customer rather than spending on products?

I launched Mobile Business Magazine 1999, sold it 2008 (you'll have probably been on the circulation - or the weekly email newsletter sent by my other firm www.wizemail.co.uk) - this in essence is a type of cashback.

Our forum debates spawned the IMPDA - Independent Mobile Phone Dealers Association - who have had relative success in bringing cashback 'fraud' into the public arena - it's a dying practice that was fuelled by the networks.

Having been out of the industry for a few months I'm not following how cashback and giveaways are getting on, but, it's funny you should mention Dial-a-phone, I have an untouched database of 3.2m consumer mobile contacts, Name, Address, Mobile number, contract start date and many dob's - all credit checked and opt-in for third party use.

£100k annual multiuse.

Regardless of whether you want the data, if you want/need any advice/knowledge I may have, ping me an email.

Best,
Don

Our company gets something like a £400 credit for every new mobile phone contract we take out, plus calls between our company mobiles are free.

I can see that appealing moreso than a specific item.
