I've taken over as Company Sec for a small freehold residents company and need to do the accounts to end December 2007. When do these need to be in by?
And can anyone suggest an accountant in the Croydon area? How much approx are we looking at?

Companies House will require these accounts to be filed with them by 31 October 2008. If they miss that deadline, there is an automatic £100 penalty.

Be aware that these types of property managment companies need to prepare accounts that show a no profit/no loss situation each year and it is good policy to obtain exemption from having to submit the company accounts and the related Corporation Tax return to HMRC.

The Revenue are usually willing to grant a five year dispensation from having to submit a return to them once the situation is explained to them in writing.
I have a few of these types of companies on my books and I usually charge in the region of £150 to £190 - depending on what they've been up to during the year.
