Got a job, but need job seekers booklet to stop claim or I c

I was claiming job seekers allowance and now that I have a job, I have (conveniently) lost my claim booklet.

The lady at the centre when I rang told me I need to send this back and fill in the relevant details about finding a job.

If I don't send this off I don't get a P45 and then I pay with an emergency tax code.

I only have the booklet from my previous claim when I looked for a job before, found one, then left it to have this new claim which I've just negated the need for, as I've just got a job.


What to do?

Go down to the job centre armed with your NI number and don't leave till you've got the required booklet or a P45.

Be prepared for a long day....

I've got my NI number no problem (always carry the card in my wallet).


I have a jobcentre very local to my place of work. Only potential problem is, that is not where I signed on at. Would I be able to do what I need there?



Funnily enough, I did have a job before and claimed before I got that, but I have that booklet with me at my work (never handed it in to job centre).

Could I send this off instead?
