HMRC P11 calculator

I have just entered the pay details of my employee with the new tax code changes (603L). On the P11 calculator in column 7 there is a figure with a R for refund before it. Does this mean my employee does not pay any tax this week and I add that figure on to his pay? If so, do I then get that back from the HMRC? Do they just send it or do I have to apply?
