Quick review....leased telephone equipment ( control board and phones) 5years ago with option to make one further payment to own. Finance went to third party who were advised in good time that we wished to invoke this option. They said they would advise original provider, with whom we have fallen out, to contact us re final payment. Four months later still waiting. My question is this, how long do we have to leave it before we can effectively dispose of said equipment without further retribution?

Surely the equipment is owned by the leasing company? Most leases work like that. The reason they are attempting to contact the original supplier is probably to pass the sales lead on to try and retain you as a mutual customer. Just go back to the leasing company and ask them on what grounds they will pass title to you or authorise you to dispose of it?

Oh, and please email me if you need a new system...
