I'd like to see how the FTSE performed today - it wasn't in the news. Any links to a handy day graph please?

Thanks, that'll do nicely. It's just that I phoned my chap to put some loot into equities at 9.30am but it didn't happen until about 3.30pm. Looks like it worked to my advantage.

I find it very frustrating when I want to buy or sell something on the spur of the moment only to be told 'We'll send you form'. No, I want to do it NOW not in three days time!!

Retail broking = you get what you pay for.

No excuse for not executing within 3 minutes of reciept of client order, assuming funds in place.

This will ultimately screw you on a busy day if you wish to close positions.

I'd change broker pronto.

Nearly all online discount brokers are a pile of ste. They haven't the money or the revenues to justify the investment in the systems required to handle above average flow. In fact, nearly all of them still use a system that is over 10 years old and just prints out orders to the dealing desk rather than automatically credit checking the destination account and placing the order onto the exchange. Criminal.

I was guessing PA dealing delays. Some banks have had this stuff online for years and it's an automatic yes/no on pretty much any instrument indcluding long&short options.
