Can CHAPS payments be made internationally?

If not, are there any international alternatives?

Yes, in branch, same day (LTSB) 12:00 cut off I think.

Never come across a same day International payment. Usually is between 2-5 days depending on how the recipient country's financial system is. Some smaller countries the payments literally get taken on the back of a camel!

I believe SWIFT Transfers are the international ones, and whilst some banks say 2-5 days, they can be done same day if you do them early enough and/or pay a premium to ensure it.

The actual SWIFT transaction is instant, done at a special Swift computer terminal, its just whether the sender and receiver banks want to use your money for a day or two first and right now they probably need to!
