Hi

I am looking at a virtual PBX for my company and have found BT promoting their solution RingCentral. Has anyone here had experience with these or indeed any other virtual pbx?

The reason I want this pbx is because I have home workers and need flexibility to route calls to various places such as skype and mobile. The traditional pbx route is not flexible enough and a full blown VOIP is not yet cost effective so this would produce an interim solution

What would you call it then?

How about trixbox? Its Asterisk with a nice fancy front end.

We had play a couple of years ago, whilst it was prety good it worked out more cost effective for us to get a system from IPcortex which is a rack mounted asterix based system.

Work very well.

Its a PBX, in the traditional sense, just one that runs on PC platform rather than a proprietary platform.

A virtual PBX is a solution hosted away from your premises.

I have just set up a ringcentral system for our group.

It seems to setup well, if a little confusing with all the different settings pages.

I am diverting the office number on Friday, so it will be interesting to see what calls we were missing and how cost effective it is.
