Need to invest some money in a cheap and effective stock control system for our furniture business. Any suggestions? anyone using a decent system?

Come across the following, £1100 + VAT

Hi

Wasp is a pretty decent product for the money. You could always download a demo to see what you think.

One word of advice with the kits is that it may be cheaper to buy the components seperately i.e. the handheld in that kit is:

which actually comes with a basic application generator which you may be happy with by itself.

You then need some sort of a small desktop printer:

Plus some labels and print ribbons.

If you do want the Wasp software it's here:

There are quite a few options available really so it's worth picking up the phone. On the plus side that's actually my company so mention my name and I'm sure they'll give you a competitive price!

Thanks

Ross

Hi. If you use SAGE accounting software I think it can also do stock control, either directly or through a software upgrade.

Some programs do say they have 'stock control' built in or additional modules available but they are never that great in my experience.

You're better off using a software package which has specifically developed through years of user feedback.

If you do have Sage and want it to link into that the two software partners that spring to mind are:

http://www.orderwise.co.uk/

Again, you can always just buy a handheld barcode scanner which has a basic software package bundled with it and then look at investing in dedicated software as required.
